File Manager
The file manager is now integrated into the main program suite. It is used for image selection and insertion as well as general file handling duties.
The edit mode screen has a "files:" link that opens the file manager in "manage" mode, starting in the folder specified by the _uploadPath configuration setting. This folder must have been set with "write" permissions in order to upload, edit or delete files.
If you click the "Select image to insert" button at the bottom of the edit mode screen, the same program is used, but in "select" mode, where clicking of the file name selects that file for insertion into a section with the
picture icon. In this mode, the program starts in the folder specified in the _imagePath configuration setting ("images" by default).
Uploading files
To upload a file, click the "Browse..." button and select the file to upload. You may optionally specify a diferent name for the file to be uploaded "as:".
If you entered the file manager via the "Select image..." button, the uploaded file name will automatically be inserted in the "Image File" input box along with the width and height.
Creating new folders
To create a new folder, enter the desired name (no spaces!!) in the text input box next to the "Make Folder" button and click the button to create.
Protecting folders
When you are veiwing any folder other than the top folder, there will be an option to protect or unprotect that folder. To protect a folder, enter a UserID and Password and click the "Apply passwords". Additional UserIDs and Passwords can be specified for direct access to the files in that folder.
To view files that are in protected folders, the user will need a valid UserID and Password, or user must be logged in to view the image in a section that has the "private" box checked.
To remove a folder password, click the "Unprotect" link and uncheck the "Keep" check box. That password will be removed when the "Apply passwords" button is clicked.
To remove all password protection, uncheck all the "Keep" check boxes.
Deleting files
If the editor is logged in at an administrator level (5), a column of
delete icons will allow the file to be deleted. Note that a folder must be empty and not protected to be deleted.
