Editing pages
To edit pages, you will need to know the password and you will need to know what is used as the link to the edit mode on your template. The standard link to the edit mode is a small
icon located at the bottom of the template. Some users of Contentor choose to make the link 'hidden' on the template.
Logging on
Since the edit mode is password-protected, the first click on the edit-mode link will bring up the login screen. If you enter the wrong password, the screen reloads and you are prompted to enter the password again. You will remain logged-in for three days or until you click the "log out" link on the edit page.
Passwords are managed in setup
The Edit Screen
Once you enter the right password, the system will take you to the edit page. From this page, the you can edit the content for that particular page.
The edit screen is divided into three major sections. First is the section containing the Page Title, and if it is sub-menu page, the Sub Menu Order entry. You can also access the website’s "system setup," "database manager," and "help screens" through the icon bar:Next will be a repeating area of edit boxes, one set for each section on the page. The "header" is shown at the top of the section, typically in large text, and can be left blank.
Below the header is teh large textbox labeled "section:" where all of the text for that particular section is placed. The text box also holds any HTML or BBCode markup tags for that page.
Each section receives a section number that controls the order they are displayed on the screen. Sections need not be numbered consecutively or sequentially (i.e. you can skip numbers). To rearrange sections on a page, just change the section numbers.

- On the righthand side of the section box, there are three different time slots. The start box, the event box, and the expire box. The start box allows you to select a time and a date for which to start displaying the section. This box is automatically set for 12:00 on the date the section is first created. The event box allows you to set the information contained in the section box on the site calendar. The expire box allows you to set a time and date with which to stop displaying the section. Each box has a picture of a little calendar next to it that will allow you to pick a date.
- Above the time slots there is a delete box. The delete box allows you to delete the whole section. To do this, select the delete box, and then either save and continue editing or save and return to the page.
Ten edit assistance icons are located to the left of the main text box. These are only fully functional in MS Internet Explorer and are explained in more detail in Pop-up Help below.
Three date entry boxes are located to the right of the text box. These determine when the section is first displayed on the site (start) and when it is no linger displayed (expire). The 'event' entry can be used to additionally place this section on the built-in automatic calendar (the section is still displayed on the edited page).
Each time you save an edited page, the edit mode will have a new empty section at the bottom of the existing sections.
